Pit Optimization Settings: Slopes

To access this screen:

  • Pit Optimization Settings screen >> Slopes tab.

Choose the 3D slope region data to be used in your case study. 3D slope regions are either imported or generated by your application.

Note: For a detailed explanation of the optimization process, see Pit Optimization.

Once a slope region file is selected, its available regions appear below and their parameters can then be defined using the Define Slopes for a Region screen.

Activity steps:

  1. Display the Slopes screen.

  2. Expand Select slope region to pick the database containing 3D slope region information. Alternatively, define slope region information for all regions by selecting Default.

Note: Slope region files are configured using the Make 3D Regions screen.

  3. Set the Default max allowable slope error. This defines the maximum permitted slope error (in degrees) for all regions in the selected slope region object. This default value is applied to all slope regions unless overridden by a region-specific setting (see below).

  4. 3D regions defined in this file lists all slope regions defined in the selected slope region file; select a label and click Parameters to define slopes for the selected region. See Define Slopes for Region.

Note: If no region-specific parameters are configured, the default slope constraint specified above is used instead.

  5. Define the remaining pit optimization settings and save your project.
